Hello, I am a Singaporean who travels occasionally, often alone.
I try to share travel experiences and sometimes the thought process of making certain decisions during my solo trips and planning. Maybe it can be useful for someone thinking of doing the same thing.
I also hope to write better, so I am using this blog to be a practising platform.

What’s Flower Legs?
Whenever I mention an upcoming trip in the planning, my mother would say that I am very 花脚, which is literally translates to “Flower Legs”. It means something like itchy feet for travelling, with a hint of disapproving connotation.
My Background Story
I did not travel much in my younger days, except for (highly subsidized) school trips once in a blue moon, mainly due to financial constraints. I started to travel a little bit more after working for a few years and saving some money.
However, a full time job also meant less time flexibility and it became harder and harder to schedule a trip with friends or family who also have a full time job. Many budding travel plans were shelved because it was so difficult to find a common schedule.
One day in 2015 I caught chicken pox and the sudden halt from my daily grind made me rethink my autopilot life. I booked a hiking trip to set off on the weekend I would exit from my quarantine. It was my first overseas trip alone, though there were fellow travellers in the hiking group.
That year, I went for a few more of such trips, and went on my first solo trip by extending a work trip. Never looked back!
Married with Kids
Do you know that solo travelling is not exclusive to people who are single and without commitments? I still continued to travel alone even after getting married and have a kid.
I travel with my husband occasionally, but I would plan a trip in a way he enjoys, because I get to do things my way during my solo trips. Sometimes there is no need to compromise when travel styles are too different. I believe that a healthy relationship allows two individuals to thrive in their own rights.
